We can tell you something about Thermal spraying coating

What is thermal spraying coating?

01.

Definition of thermal spraying

Thermal spraying is a kind of surface treatment process. It uses electric arc, fuel combustion, ionized gas and other heat sources to heat the wire or powder into a molten or semi molten state, which is accelerated by compressed gas to form a protective layer on the roughened surface.

02.

Benefit of thermal spray

1 Versatility. Almost any metal, ceramic or plastic can be thermal sprayed
2 Reduced Cost. By repairing the component, the coating actually lasts longer than the original material used
3 The thickness of thermal sprayed coating can be controlled, generally from tens of microns to a few millimeters
4 The heating degree of thermal spraying workpiece can be controlled

03.

Major thermal spraying technology companies in the world

1. Sulzermetco. The company is formed by the merger of the former Swiss Pt company and the American Metco company. It is the largest thermal spraying technology company in the world. 2. Praxair surface technology engineering company. The company used to belong to United Carbide company, headquartered in the United States, mainly producing all kinds of powders. Now it has purchased Miller thermal spraying company and formed a thermal spraying technology company with relatively complete product categories.

04.

Common Processes Of Thermal Spraying

1 Flame spraying.
2 Arc spraying.
3 Plasma spraying.
4 HVOF spraying.
Like overlay welding or chromium plating, thermal spraying is a coating process. The feedstock material, in the form of a wire or powder, is melted or softened by flame or electricity and propelled onto the workpiece.
